We are smart, capable, caring people improving lives locally through better housing.
We prioritise inclusion, teamwork and integrity.
Our operational staff, health and safety and quality assurance teams, along with office-based services and administration teams make it work.
Our people grow professionally and personally and have opportunity for career and leadership advancement.
We encourage our team to get involved in the community by offering an annual paid volunteer day at a community organisation.
Our team of over 240 employees, together with our contractor network, provide better, safer, warmer homes for Kiwi families.
We make a difference evey day!
Our Communities are why we do this. All of us, employees, contractors and trades workers are all responsible for the outcomes of our work; we remember our actions, attitudes and behaviour reflect on our own organisations and on our client organisations – and on us personally because we are members of our communities too.
Our diverse work force proudly reflects our communities. And we buck the gender norm - more women than men hold leadership roles at Spencers.
Spencers’ Hudson Sellars Apprentice Scholarship benefits apprentice employees of our solid and professional trades contractor employers, who are great mentors to their apprentices.
Spencers’ Northland team was pleased to be part of a special event, the Women in Trades Expo, in Whangārei in November. This event encourages and supports women to enter the construction industry, and celebrates women working in construction. It was hosted by Te Matarau and supported by local companies Whanga-Ara-Rau and Hanga-Ara-Rau.
Petone beach is shared by all of the community and its visitors. As it is connected to the river, rubbish is dragged onto the beach and does require maintenance to keep it clear. Spencers arranged a beach clean for October, and will schedule these at regular intervals to keep the beach in a nice condition.
