Spencers has provided property repair and maintenance across Aotearoa for more than five decades. We are proud to maintain social housing for over 30,000 Kiwi families, and we are dedicated to making a meaningful difference in our communities, schools and across the trade landscape.
We specialise in working with government agencies and have long term relationships with Kāinga Ora and Tāmaki Regeneration.
Health and Safety for our workers, customers and community is our first work priority.
Quality is our next priority after Health and Safety.
Our non-negotiable quality message is, “Do it Once, Do it Right”
Our dedicated Quality Assurance team owns the quality standard requirements of our maintenance contracts. They drive a culture of quality and audit completed work. Their trade specialist team members deliver trade-specific training and resources, ensuring contract specifications are understood.
Spencers’ people, reputation, clients and future rely on all of us working safely and sustainably.
Our Health and Safety Team protects the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone involved with our work. We nurture a culture that integrates safety, environmental awareness and sustainability across all of our work, and for our entire workforce.
We provide our trades contractors access to streamlined systems designed to increase their health and safety knowledge and improve their practices, alongside free planning assistance and consultancy services.
Our induction includes health and safety training on the most significant hazards in our workplaces, including toxic substances, electric power tools, asbestos, paint containing lead, dogs and working at heights.
Spencers’ Hudson Sellars Apprentice Scholarship benefits apprentice employees of our solid and professional trades contractor employers, who are great mentors to their apprentices.
Spencers’ Northland team was pleased to be part of a special event, the Women in Trades Expo, in Whangārei in November. This event encourages and supports women to enter the construction industry, and celebrates women working in construction. It was hosted by Te Matarau and supported by local companies Whanga-Ara-Rau and Hanga-Ara-Rau.
Petone beach is shared by all of the community and its visitors. As it is connected to the river, rubbish is dragged onto the beach and does require maintenance to keep it clear. Spencers arranged a beach clean for October, and will schedule these at regular intervals to keep the beach in a nice condition.
